Every formula and every band is attributed to a published method, not to a house opinion.
HealthPulse exists because most health calculators dump a number with no context, and most wellness writing is selling a powder. We do neither. We sit in Denver and ship tools in pounds and inches.
The gap between what health researchers know and what most people can find online is wider than it should be. Search for a calorie target and you get a number wrapped in advertising. Search for a sleep tip and you get a list with no mechanism behind it.
We built HealthPulse around a simple rule: publish the estimate, publish the formula it came from, and publish the point at which it stops applying to you. If a question needs a doctor, we say so. If it is an emergency, call 911.

Articles checked against CDC and USDA guidance
Written for the general reader
No jargon without a definition, and no claim that depends on buying something.
These are the checks a guide or a calculator has to pass before it goes on the site. They are also the things you can hold us to if something reads wrong.
Every formula and every band is attributed to a published method, not to a house opinion.
If an estimate can be out by 15%, we print that rather than hiding it behind a precise-looking number.
No accounts, no analytics profiles, no health figures leaving your device. There is nothing to leak.
Symptoms, diagnoses, and medication calls go to a U.S. doctor. We will not guess in that space. Emergencies: 911.
A reader question starts it
Topics come from what people actually ask us, not from search volume.
Draft against current guidance
We work from CDC, NIH, and USDA materials and systematic reviews, not a single study or a trend post.
Plain-language pass
Every term that needs a definition gets one inline, and anything unreadable out loud is rewritten.
Red-flag check, then review date
Each article names the symptoms that need a doctor and is revisited when CDC guidance changes.
Guidance-led, not trend-led
Checked against CDC, NIH, and USDA public-health materials
No. HealthPulse is a Denver wellness studio, not a medical practice. We write from CDC and USDA materials and peer-reviewed reviews, and we stop short of anything that needs an exam or a patient history.
Nothing. Every calculation runs in JavaScript inside your own browser. Your height, weight, age and sleep times are never sent to a server, stored in a database or linked to an account. Refresh the page and they are gone.
Because it remains a widely used population screening measure, and people meet it in clinical settings. Our version shows the bands, the healthy weight range for your height, and a clear statement of where the measure breaks down — pregnancy, childhood, high muscle mass and some ethnic-specific thresholds.
HealthPulse is deliberately small and cheap to run: static pages, no tracking stack, no infrastructure holding personal data. That keeps the incentive to sell you a supplement, a plan or a subscription entirely out of the writing.
Corrections matter more to us than traffic. If a figure looks out of date or a guide reads as though it is missing something important, tell us and we will check it against current guidance and publish the change.
